Infiniti has introduced new standard features on its Q30 and QX30 ranges. It has also reduced the number of variants and given them different model names. SOPHISTICATED NEW SAFETY FEATURES ON LEXUS LS 500

Lexus has introduced additional driving assistance and advanced pre-collision support in its LS 500 flagship. World-first technology can pinpoint the location of a pedestrian and automatically control the car’s steering and braking. The position of the pedestrian is shown in an animated graphic on the vehicle’s head-up display, aiding the driver’s intuitive recognition of the situation. NEW GENERATION RANGE ROVER EVOQUE

Where else would you choose to reveal the new Range Rover Evoque but in London’s ultra creative East End? British activist and model Adwoa Aboah wore a specially commissioned dress designed by Ashley Williams, crafted using the Evoque’s suede-cloth textile. This interior textile is made from recycled polyester microfibres, from items such as plastic bottles; in fact the equivalent of 53 plastic bottles go into each vehicle specified with these seats. BMW REVEALS HOTTEST X2 YET

BMW’s first ever M Performance model for the X2, tagged as the M35i, has been confirmed for the Australian market in 2019 and will be priced from $68,900 plus on-road costs. The M35i is powered by a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine a generation up to 225kW and 450Nm driving through an eight-speed Steptronic Sport transmission featuring gearshift paddles. Kia has introduced a Picanto X-Line Australian Open Special Edition as part of its major commitment to the biggest tennis event in Australia. Picanto X-Line is based on the Picanto GT-Line. It has premium seats with red accents, premium steering wheel and shift knob, alloy pedals, electric-folding door mirrors, LED position lamps with DRLs, LED rear lights and projection headlamps X-Line and AO Edition. ALFA ROMEO’S HOT NEW STELVIO QUADRIFOGLIO

Alfa Romeo has announced that the hottest version of its SUV, the Quadrifoglio, will reach Australia in mid January and will have an MSRP of $149,900. Orders are being taken now. Its 2.9-litre V6 bi-turbo petrol engine puts out up to 375kW of power, with torque of 600 Nm to give a zero to 100km/h time of just 3.8 seconds. Midway through the year we drove Hyundai’s Ioniq during early-stage testing on Australian roads. Now the eagerly awaited Hyundai is going on sale Downunder. It is offered in pure-electric and petrol-petrol-electric variant. Ferrari Australia has unveiled its latest Super Series model, the track-ready 488 Pista coupe and convertible.
