These are the models we will be covering in this week’s Used Car Checkout. Kia Cerato is… Read more

THOROUGHBRED WITH STING IN THE TAIL

Like a scorpion, the sting of the latest Kia sports sedan is in the tail, where 272 kW and 510 Nm are delivered to the road, and hence to the rear wheels of the Stinger 330S. Mated with Kia’s own-design eight-speed automatic transmission driving the rear wheels via a mechanical limited-slip differential, the latter gives the car its high-performance pedigree with a claimed sprint from zero to 100 km/h in 4.9 seconds, using launch control, and a top speed of 270 km/h. This has led to its uptake by police… Read more

TOYOTA FJ CRUISER 2011 – 2016

Toyota FJ Cruiser is a tribute to the legendary Toyota FJ 40 LandCruiser. That original Cruiser was a rough ’n’ tough old-style 4WD, whereas the new one that was launched here in March 2011 is much easier to live with. It’s also a lot more capable off-road than most people realise. Our launch took place five years after the FJ Cruiser had been introduced in the USA. Many Aussies had seen it over there, or in photos in local 4WD magazines, and lobbied Toyota to bring it downunder. It didn’t… Read more
