The Jeep Wrangler Rubicon has been named 4×4 Australia 4×4 of the Year. It’s one of the most capable SUV on the planet, and was celebrated for being unstoppable even on the toughest terrain, with its undeniable off-road prowess and rich heritage.
“The Wrangler Rubicon Diesel shone out for its unrivalled off road ability and uncompromised approach to adventure driving. With its removable roof and 80 years of heritage behind it, the Rubicon is a truly unique vehicle,” said Matt Raudonikis, Editor of 4×4 Australia.
Kevin Flynn, Managing Director of FCA Australia accepted the award, saying, “The Wrangler is an incredibly special vehicle for Jeep. It’s the original 4×4 SUV that’s been many years in the making. There have been significant changes made to the on-road driving dynamics, it is still the most capable 4×4 production vehicle in the world and the new design remains authentic to its heritage.”
“Next year, the Willys MB is going to turn 80 years old, and when you look at the Wrangler today you can still see the rich heritage that links back to the original Willys MB, and the sense of freedom and authenticity that the vehicle offers,” said Flynn.
