Nissan’s fourth generation X-Trail is here. It’s structurally more rigid, more aerodynamically efficient, introduces a host of new active and passive safety features, has a revised cabin layout with premium features and materials and introduces a raft of new technical aids including adaptive cruise control and more standard additions to the Nissan Intelligent Mobility suite. EVS SET TO DROP IN PRICE

Electric vehicles finally look set to drop in price with Government agreement to cut importers a tax break. The scheme will exempt EVs from import tariffs as well as fringe benefits tax, making the vehicles more affordable. The Electric Vehicle Council has welcomed the decision as a “landmark moment” for EV policy in Australia. PREMCAR TO DEVELOP AND PRODUCE THE NISSAN WARRIOR PATROL

Nissan Australia has announced it has given the green light for Premcar to develop and produce the newest model to join its Nissan Warrior program, the Patrol Warrior. The Patrol is the latest Nissan nameplate to join the company’s critically acclaimed Warrior model series, a Nissan-specific OEM-level new-vehicle enhancement program produced and delivered by Premcar. X-TRAIL GETS THE ELECTRIC TREATMENT

A long-time pioneer of electric cars, Nissan is taking the plunge into hybrids — but hybrids of a different kind. The new Qashqai and X-Trail will be offered with what Nissan calls e-POWER, a hybrid setup where the petrol engine supplies power to an electric motor which has the job of turning the wheels. NISSAN PATROL Ti-L

Introduced in 2010 (2013 here), Nissan Patrol is a competitor for the big Toyota Land Cruiser, recently updated to the 300 Series. It was also sold here briefly as the Infiniti QX80 before Nissan pulled the pin on the luxury brand in 2019 (yet again).
