VOLKSWAGEN TIGUAN: MAJOR UPDATES

Volkswagen Australia’s best-selling model, the Tiguan SUV has received update and will go sale Downunder in two stages. The Tiguan 162TSI and the new 147TDI models arrive in late May followed in June by the 132TSI. Tiguan comes in three grades: Life; Elegance; and the sport-themed R-Line. The Life grade is offered with either a 1.4-litre 110kW/250Nm with front-wheel drive and six- speed DSG transmission or as a 132TSI 132kW/320Nm with 4MOTION all-wheel drive and a seven-speed DSG. MAZDA MX-30 M HYBRID

RELIANT SCIMITAR

The Reliant Scimitar was an Italian styled, British-built sports car that proved very popular in the USA. One of its best-known owners was Princess Anne who gave the car quite a deal of publicity when she was booked for speeding in her Scimitar. FCAI – MARCH 2021 SALES FIGURES

The Federal Chamber of Automotive Industries (FCAI), the peak body for the automotive industry in Australia, today released the new vehicle sales figures for March 2021. A total of 100,005 vehicles were sold in March 2021, up 22.4 per cent on March 2020 sales when 81,690 vehicles were sold. This positive result was reflected across all states and territories other than the ACT (down 43.8%). MAZDA BT-50 THUNDER

Mazda Australia is about to launch a special model, the BT-50 Thunder. Developed by Mazda Australia’s in-house engineering team it will be sold only on the Australian market. It is based on the Mazda BT-50 GT dual-cab 4×4 and has a bold front-end treatment that includes a single hoop steel bullbar and a Lightforce dual-row LED lightbar. NARVA ULTIMA LED MK2 DRIVING LIGHTS

NARVA has introduced new Ultima LED MK2 driving lights it says are a ‘brighter and bolder’ evolution of its popular 180mm and 215mm Ultima L.E.D driving lights, hence the MK2 name. Both sizes of MK2 offer a substantial 30 per cent increase in light output over and above the current Ultima 180 and 215 lights, as well as a 20 per cent longer light beam. BMW iX MODELS: INITIAL DETAILS

The first-ever BMW iX, now in its final phase of development, will arrive in Australia in the fourth quarter this year. Two models will be imported, the iX xDrive40 and BMW iX xDrive50. Hyundai has provided further details of its new people-mover, the Staria. Saying that it’s designed for both families and businesses. Hyundai Staria’s has a wide radiator grille to give it what the Korean maker says is a space-age appearance. It uses the same body colour for all frontal parts. The Aston Martin Vantage F1 Edition celebrates the British marque’s return to Formula 1 for the first time in over 60 years.
