PORSCHE MACAN: MAJOR MAKEOVER

Porsche_Macan_front - CopyPorsche’s Macan midsize SUV has had a full makeover, with changes to its style inside and out and significantly better connectivity. And it comes as no surprise the biggest emphasis is on driving dynamics.

The Macan’s front end has been thoroughly redesigned to give it a wider appearance. LED technology is standard in the newly designed main headlights. Porsche Dynamic Light System Plus (PDLS Plus) is optional and provides adaptive light distribution.

The Macan Porsche Communication Management (PCM) system has been upgraded and now operates through a full-HD touchscreen that’s now 10.9 inches in width, well up from the previous 7.2 inches.

The system features updated navigation and infotainment services. Other features include Porsche Connect (with LTE phone module and SIM card reader), a WLAN hotspot and Apple CarPlay. The Porsche Connect app enables the driver to communicate with the Macan via their smartphone.

An optional Compass display and Offroad Precision app can be used to make the off-road experience in the Macan even more exciting and record it.

As in the Porsche Panamera and Cayenne, the user interface can be adapted to suit personal requirements via predefined tiles.

We are assured the revised suspension makes the Macan even more enjoyable to drive, yet actually increases comfort. It comes with mixed-size tyres, enabling the driver to take full advantage of the intelligent all-wheel drive Porsche Traction Management (PTM) system.

Newly developed tyres with improved performance characteristics make for even better lateral dynamics. The wheel diameters range from 19 inches as standard to an optional 21 inches.

We have yet to test drive new Macan but will put our name down to get into one as soon as the first shipment arrives.

Built at the Porsche factory in Leipzig, Germany, macan is now available to order in Australia. Standard features in our imports now include 14-way comfort seats with memory package, automatic dimming interior and exterior mirrors, ParkAssist with Surround View and a new standard 19-inch wheel design.
