BMW Australia says it will debut of the BMW M8 Competition Coupé in the first quarter of 2020.
It will be fitted with an updated version of the BMW M 4.4-litre V8 TwinPower turbo-petrol engine (460 kW / 750 Nm) and eight-speed M Steptronic transmission with Drivelogic. This will give it the ability to get from zero to 100 km/h in just 3.2 seconds – that’s motorbike territory.
Technical highlights include two twin scroll turbochargers in the V between the cylinder banks, indirect charge air cooling, direct injection with a maximum pressure of 350 bar, and cross-bank exhaust manifolds.
We are assured it will produce a strong V8 sound thanks to the M Sport Exhaust system.
A highly advanced M xDrive system offers 4WD, 4WD Sport and 2WD modes.
Powerful M compound brakes are available as standard with blue calipers, while lightweight M Carbon Ceramic brakes are optional.
The M8 Competition Coupé also comes with the BMW M Driver’s Package, that enables top speed of 305km/h. It also give the proud new owner complimentary entry to the BMW Driving Experience Advance Courses 1 and 2
Pricing will start from $352,900 with a host of options available for customers to personalise the M8 Competition Coupé.
Optional paint colours are many and varied, starting at a comparatively reasonable $2,000 for Brilliant White and go up to an eye-watering $10,400 for Pure Metal Silver.
