VOLKSWAGEN MULTIVAN BLACK EDITION

Volkswagen Australia realises that many people are buying seven-seat SUVs because they are tough and trendy but often then come to realise that the back seats can be difficult to get into and squeezy once you’re there. So VW also sells a Multivan seven-seater that offers spacious accommodation for seven. It hasn’t sold as well as anticipated and so it has introduced a stylish Multivan Black Edition. Some 230 examples of the Multivan Black Edition are coming Downunder. The launch of the Black Edition took place at the Manly (Sydney)… Read more

Replete with performance options, previously available only in Europe, the outstanding feature of the Golf R Special Edition is the Akropovic exhaust and muffler made… Read more

VOLKSWAGEN POLO 2010 – 2017

2014 Volkswagen Polo

Volkswagen Polo has the solid German feel that’s simply not felt in Asian competitors in this class. Owners we have spoken to like them for that, saying they feel safe and secure. Just as importantly they love the way they handle in a European manner. Polo was a relatively slow seller in Australia prior to 2010 when a new model was introduced in April of that year. Older Polos had been on the bland side in appearance, the new one had a bit of oomph to its shape, and potential… Read more

VOLKSWAGEN GOLF 110TSI COMFORTLINE

Turmeric is all the rage now, isn’t it? Chips and lattes, creams, salads and soaps. Even cars, it seems. That was the colour of the Golf Comfortline we picked up for the week. Or so the brochure said. Having a mother with Indian heritage, turmeric played a starring role in our household long before celebrities started adding it to their chai. We had it mixed in water to settle upset tummies, sprinkled on cuts to help healing and combined with a touch of coconut oil for a paste for skin… Read more

VOLKSWAGEN GOLF 2009 – 2017

2010 Volkswagen Golf GTD

In Europe, the Golf is often seen as a full-sized car and it’s not unusual to see them with four adults inside. Aussies tend to regard them more as transport for a family with pre-teen children, but if you live in an inner city area in Melbourne of Sydney a Golf may fill all your motoring needs. Still regarded as a benchmark car in its class if you’re a keen driver, the Volkswagen Golf has had its ups and downs in recent years. Once famed for German build quality and… Read more

Now, six years later, the Amarok has added that seemingly elusive power factor to an already impressive vehicle. STYLING You want a pickup that looks like a pickup, one who’s chiselled… Read more

VW MULTIVAN A MACHINE FOR THE TIMES

When it comes to automobiles the frustrated cerebral time traveller need go no farther than the VW Transporter. The T Series vans, like countless Dr Who, carry more than half a century of light commercial vehicle development. With worldwide sales of more than twelve million vehicles in that time, the latest range bears little resemblance to the original vans, which were not much better than a bulky metal box on wheels. Now, thanks to things like computerisation and a focus on occupational health and safety, the light commercial vehicle workplace… Read more
