Finished in Racing Blue, Honda Australia is not saying how many FL5s will be available for purchase, but you’d better get in quick.
The sought-after Type R FL5 is a product of Honda’s racing heritage and expertise, blending leading ride and handling with the stunning performance of its VTEC Turbo 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine tuned to produce 235kW of power and 420Nm of torque.
Designed in Japan, the FL5 Type R’s boasts a sleek and sophisticated exterior, with beautifully integrated advanced aerodynamics.
Complementing the exterior styling is the new addition of Racing Blue to the colour range, joining the historic Championship White, Crystal Black and Sonic Grey.
“Civic Type R has captured the imagination of Australians for generations and continues to represent the pinnacle of performance in small cars,” Honda’s Robert Thorp said.
The FL5 is is $79,000 drive away, with an optional carbon fibre spoiler adding $5300 to the price.

Like all new Hondas the FL5 comes with a 5-year unlimited kilometre warranty, 5-year premium roadside assistance and five scheduled services at only $199 a pop.
