Audi has launched an updated version of its popular mid-sized A4. With over 75,000 local sales since it arrived in Australia 25 years ago the A4 sedan and its A5 hatchback sibling have long been the German manufacturer’s biggest seller here only dropping down the company’s sales chart as SUV alternatives grew in numbers. AUDI’S FIRST ALL ELECTRIC VEHICLES

Audi Australia has provided details of the company’s first-ever all-electric vehicles, the Audi e-tron and e-tron Sportback. They will be available with two battery variants incorporating significant new technology. Both have electric motors on the front and rear axles and use a liquid-cooled lithium-ion battery to store the electrical energy. Audi e-tron 55 quattro produce 300kW of power and 664Nm of torque. Audi’s RS 5 coupe is the first high-performance RS model to make use of the MLBevo chassis architecture. That, and a new suspension layout front and rear, makes it up to 60 kg lighter than before.
