HONDA CIVIC IMPROVED FOR 2020

Honda Australia has updated its Civic hatch by adding Honda Sensing safety and driver-assist technologies on the VTi-L and RS grades. There are also a number of exterior styling and interior design upgrades across all variants. The front and rear bumpers have been redesigned, with body coloured accents in the new lower panel sections, along with a new front grille design. Porsche is adding two new models to its mid-engine sportscar, the 718 Cayman GTS 4.0 and the 718 Boxster GTS 4.0. Both are powered by a 400 hp (294 kW) 4.0-litre six-cylinder boxer engine, based on the engine used in the 718 Spyder and the 718 Cayman GT4. Genesis has teased us with the first official images of the GV80, the first sport-utility vehicle for the very ambitious South Korean marque. The photos are deliberately fuzzy but do give a fair idea of what it will look like. Obviously, addition pics will be released in coming weeks and months. 2019 NEW CAR SALES DOWN

The Federal Chamber of Automotive Industries (FCAI) has released new vehicle sales results for calendar year 2019. A total of 1,062,867 new vehicles were recorded as sold, a 7.8 per cent decrease on full year 2018. The 2019 figure of 1,062,867 is the lowest annual sales result reported in VFACTS since 2011. On a monthly basis, 84,239 new vehicle sales were recorded for December 2019, a decrease of 3.8 per cent from December 2018. BMW Z4 M40i GETS MORE POWER – NO PRICE INCREASE

BMW Australia has ramped up the performance of its Z4 M40i roadster by announcing a 35kW increase to the power output of its 3.0-litre turbocharged six-cylinder petrol engine. The increase means the Z4 M40i can now accelerate from 0-100km/h in just 4.1 seconds, an improvement of four tenths of a second over the previous model. MAZDA UPDATES MX-5

An updated Mazda MX-5 will go on sale in Australia in early 2020. However changes are relatively minor, with an emphasis on the interior. There are revisions to interior materials with RF GT models getting Burgundy Nappa leather punctuated with a light grey stitch to create a more luxurious cabin atmosphere.
