HYUNDAI TUCSON: FOURTH EDITION

Hyundai has just launched the fourth-generation of its midsize Tucson in its home market of Korea, though it won’t reach us in Australia until the first half of 2021. FORD RANGER FX4 MAX

Ford Ranger FX4 MAX will make its Australian debut in late 2020. This is a factory-built, fully warranted Ranger with extended off-road capabilities inspired by the sales success of the Ranger Raptor Downunder. It has specialised suspension and BF Goodrich All-Terrain off-road tyre-and-wheel package. It has a standout front mesh grille with a dark grey surround – which is also used for the skid plate. RANGE ROVER VELAR: MORE POWER, HIGH-TECH INTERIOR

A 3.0-litre straight-six Ingenium engine now powers the Range Rover Velar. Arguably the most interesting news is that it’s available in 48-volt mild hybrid with all-wheel drive variant. This uses a Belt integrated Starter Generator to harvest energy normally lost under deceleration. The energy is stored in a 48V lithium-ion battery and is then used to assist the engine when accelerating. The new 294kW P400 engine generates up to 550Nm of torque and has an electric supercharger, as well as a twin scroll turbocharger. UPGRADED HYUNDAI i30 N FIRST INFORMATION

Hyundai Motor has revealed the first information about the latest generation of its hot hatch, the i30 N. The i30 N features revised aggressive-looking front and rear bumpers, two large exhaust pipes, a wide centre grille with the N signature, and new rear lamps and new LED headlamps with V-shaped DRLs. The images also show newly-developed 19-inch forged alloy wheels, which are lighter than those of the previous i30 N, saving more than 14kg of unsprung mass.
