Jaguar has given us details of the facelifted XF Saloon that’s coming here in the first months of 2021. It has a new front bumper with larger and lower air intakes for increased visual width. The front grille features a mesh design detail inspired by Jaguar’s heritage logo. The side fender vents now feature the iconic ‘Leaper’ emblem. FCAI WELCOMES THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT’S ANNOUNCEMENT ON APPRENTICESHIPS

The Federal Chamber of Automotive Industries (FCAI) has welcomed the Australian Federal Government’s announcement of a boost to Australian apprenticeships positions. The scheme, announced on 5th October, includes an investment of $1.2 billion to employ 100,000 new apprentices and trainees and is part of the Federal Government’s COVID-19 economic recovery plan. NEW VEHICLE SALES: SEPTEMBER 2020

The Federal Chamber of Automotive Industries (FCAI), the peak body for the automotive industry, has released new vehicle sales figures for September 2020. A total of 68,985 sales was recorded for the month, down 21.8 per cent on September 2019 when 88,181 sales were reported. On a year to date basis, sales for the industry totalled 644,891, down 20.5 per cent from the same period in 2019 when 811,464 new vehicles sales were recorded. Audi Australia has launched its first ever full-electric series production vehicle, the e-tron with an impressive blend of advanced engineering, technology and luxury. Hyundai Motor has unveiled details of the updated i30 N that will reach Australia in the first half of 2021. Major features are a new wet-type eight-speed dual-clutch automatic and advanced driver assistance and safety features. Changes to the outer front bumper corners incorporate air curtains to significantly improve the airflow and reduce turbulence into the wheel housing. PORSCHE ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT PROGRAM

Porsche has launched its Porsche Impact program in Australia. It offers owners an emissions calculator that allows them to determine and offset their personal Porsche carbon footprint. Using an online calculator, owners can estimate the CO2 footprint of their Porsche and financially support environmentally friendly Australian projects. The contribution is based on consumption, annual distance travelled and the selected support project.
