BMW Australia will bring in the all-new BMW X5 M Competition and BMW X6 M Competition models in the second quarter of 2020.
Both models will feature the signature BMW M kidney grille, with black double bars adorning the front design along with matching M gills, exterior mirror caps, diffuser trim in the rear apron and exhaust pipes in black.
They are powered by a 4.4-litre M TwinPower turbocharged V8 petrol engine with 460kW of power and 750Nm of torque. They can get from a standstill to 100km/h in just 3.8 seconds.
BMW’s M xDrive all-wheel-drive system has an eight-speed M Steptronic transmission with Drivelogic. Gearshift characteristics can be adjusted via the Drivelogic button on the M-specific selector lever.
Manual gear shifting is available via M shift paddles on the steering wheel.
Specifically tuned M chassis and suspension geometry works through a combination of stiff suspension mountings, enhanced camber values and continual electronic damper adjustment at each wheel.
Compound brakes with integrated braking system feature what BMW describes as, “The fusion of brake activation, brake booster and braking control functions within a single compact module.” The electronic actuator regulates brake pressure to suit the driving environment and maintain the best in pedal feel.
Australian pricing and specification detail will be released closer to the launch date.
