CUPRA V OFFERS BETTER VALUE TO ITS LEON RANGE

Spanish-based carmaker, Cupra, has added an entry level variant to its Leon hot- hatch range. Priced at a recommended $43,990, the new Leon V undercuts the previous cheapest VZ variant by $9000. The Cupra brand is still largely unknown in Australia. A Volkswagen affiliate it’s the high-performance division of SEAT and was established in 2018 as a stand-alone brand. ELECTRIC CUPRA SET TO TURN HEADS

No word on the price yet but Cupra’s all- electric, hot hatch Born could turn some heads. Built on a dedicated electric vehicle platform, the rear-wheel drive Born is expected to arrive by April next year. VW believes Cupra’s intersection of design, performance and technology perfectly aligns with the interests of Australian buyers. Born shares a platform with Volkswagen’s ID.3 and the Audi Q4 e-tron. CUPRA ATECA SUV: DETAILS ANNOUNCED

Cupra Australia has announced the basic specifications for its Cupra Ateca SUV, which will initially be available in one highly specified model grade, the Cupra VZx. The Ateca will form part of Cupra’s Australian model launch in mid-2022, which also includes the Leon hatchback, and the Formentor crossover SUV. It’s powered by a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine. Transmission is through a seven-speed DSG to all four wheels. The engine produces 221kW and 400Nm. ANOTHER CAR MARQUE IS COMING TO AUSTRALIA: CUPRA

Spanish car maker Cupra is coming Downunder at a date yet to be set, other than that it will be in the second quarter of 2022. Cupra is the high-performance division of SEAT and was launched in 2018 as a stand-alone brand. It has its own corporate headquarters, as well as a racing car workshop in Martorell, Barcelona. It will be part of the Volkswagen Group Australia (VGA).
