MG has finally revealed the price of its newest addition, the MG4 EV five-door
hatchback.
It joins the small MG ZS EV SUV and will be available initially in high grade Essence
form, priced from $47,990 plus on-roads.
The 150kW rear-drive hatch has a claimed range of 435km.
With a 64kWh battery, it can be charged to 80 per cent capacity in 60 minutes using a
commercial 50kW DC rapid charger.
A dual-motor, all-wheel drive model with 330kW of power is expected to follow, with a
claimed 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 3.8 seconds.
MG4 is the first model to sit on MG’s new, innovative Modular Scalable Platform (MSP)
which will underpin the next generation of all-electric MGs.
MG says the line-up offers exceptional storage, interior and boot space within its
compact exterior dimensions, thanks to a stretched 2705mm wheelbase.
Rear boot capacity is also enhanced by its ‘One-Pack’ battery technology which
measures just 110mm in thickness.
MG4 features the MG Pilot advanced driver assistance system, automatic LED head
and rear lights, rear parking sensors, 18-inch alloys, adaptive cruise control, automatic
climate control and MG iSmart app connectivity.
It also comes with a two-tone roof, twin aero rear spoiler, 360-degree camera and
wireless phone charging.
The car earned a five-star rating in European crash tests and is equipped with Blind
Spot Detection (BSD), Lane Change Assist (LCA) and Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA).
