It’s a small block design and electronically controlled, high-pressure common rail technology, combined with an all-new eight-speed ZF automatic transmission.
This SUV has a ladder rail chassis, has a 3000 kg towing capability. Working in conjunction with the new ZF auto is a Borg Warner transfer case. It has a range of 4WD settings thanks to LDV’s Terrain Selection system.
This new diesel powers one of the most spacious SUVs on the market today. It’s one of the few large SUVs that can easily accommodate seven adults.
Three kids, Mum, Dad and the dog – plus all their kit – will be cruising in comfort with the addition of dual- zone climate control, Apple CarPlay and smartphone connectivity, multiple USB ports and, of course, those 7 full-size leather seats.
Luggage space is impressive; 1,800 litres with all the rear seats down, 1,140 litres with the third row down, or an impressive 412 litres with all seating in use.
The LDV D90 has a five-star ANCAP safety rating. Better still is to avoid having a crash, so there are Autonomous Emergency Braking, Adaptive Cruise Control, Blind Spot Monitoring, Lane Departure Warning, Front Collision Warning and Fatigue Reminder.
“We’re delighted to broaden our offering in the large SUV segment with the arrival of a diesel alternative,” says Dinesh Chinnappa, General Manager LDV Automotive.
“At over 120,000 units per annum, the Large SUV segment is significant and dominated by diesels. Now, with a powerful new bi-turbo diesel offering, our seven-seat D90 family SUV offers even greater versatility for our target market.”
