Renault Australia is importing an Arkana R.S. Sitting at the top of the Arkana range, the R.S. Line the SUV has 18-inch R.S. Line diamond-cut alloys, a specific front bumper design with an F1-inspired aero blade, R.S. RENAULT 40CV

Also referred to as the model NN1, the Renault 40CV of 1924 was designed by Louis Renault and replaced the Renault types KJ and MT. It was powered by a large 9.1-litre straight-six engine mounted in the front of its extremely long chassis and it drove the rear wheels through a three-speed manual transmission. This engine developed 104 kW and drove the car to a top speed of 145 km/h. The NN1 was produced from 1924 through to 1928 as the successor to the Renault KJ and MT and it… Read more

RENAULT KOLEOS 2008 – 2019

Launched in Australia in September 2008 it followed the increasingly common feature of being offered in 2WD (front wheels) or 4WD. It’s as much an on-road station wagon as an off-road machine and with all four wheels being driven it can get onto moderately rough roads. Koleos has good ground clearance and the approach and departure angles aren’t too bad. But is certainly no bush basher. The transmissions have Hill Assist Start, and Hill Descent controls. The cabin is well insulated from road and mechanical noise is heavily muffled. In… Read more

RENAULT TRAFIC IS AN ATTRACTIVE AND CAPABLE MID-SIZED WORKHORSE

Renault is making quite an impact in the Australian van market with its three vehicles providing a range of sizes to suit a variety of commercial purposes. The little Kangoo (the similarity in name to our favourite marsupial is purely coincidental) is a compact urban van that’s much loved by florists and the like. Next up is the mid-sized Trafic which appeals to tradies and at the top is the Master, a serious delivery vehicle. This week’s test vehicle is the Trafic, pronounced Trafique in its Gallic homeland, which has… Read more

RENAULT MEGANE 2010 – 2019

Renault Meganes offer a wide selection of cars for those who are looking for a stylish French machine rather than simply a sensible but not particularly exciting one from Asia or Japan. Megane is offered as a five-door hatchback, five-door station wagon – and even a coupe-cabriolet for a while. Renault Megane leans in the direction of sportiness, with some very hot models at the pinnacle of their range. Gen-four Megane arrived Downunder in November 2016. It’s longer and lower than the outgoing one and has wider front and rear… Read more

VAN MAKES EARLY DELIVERY FOR CLEAN LIVING

In ‘olden days’ we kids would hitch a ride on the Co-op milkman’s float as he did his rounds in northern England. My driving the new Renault Kangoo ZE van recently jogged the old memory – smooth and silent running. Add to this zero nasty tailpipe emissions and it makes you wonder why it has taken so long for modern light commercial vehicle operators to cotton on. The Kangoo ZE (for zero emissions) is totally electric – plug in, plug out and push off. It’s only when you come to… Read more
