JAGUAR AUSTRALIA AND CHARGEFOX TEAM UP

Jaguar Australia, a founding partner of the Australian Electric Vehicle Council, has signed an official agreement with Australia’s biggest public electric vehicle (EV) charging network, Chargefox. At this stage Chargefox only has three fully operational, ultra-rapid charging stations operating: two in country Victoria at Barnawartha and Euroa and at Toombul, in Brisbane. Lexus Australia has announced a substantially revised RC F range that will include a more affordable entry price plus sharp specification for the first RC F Track Edition. BMW UNVEILS NEW V8 ENGINES FOR X5 AND X7

BMW has announced details of new flagship models for its X5 and X7 SUVs each with upgraded 4.4-litre V8 engines. The engines are based on the company’s TwinPower Turbo technology and generate up to 390 kW of power from 5500 rpm and 750 Nm of torque between 1800 and 4600 revs. As a result, the new BMW X5 M50i is able to accelerate from zero to 100 km/h in 4.3 seconds and the X7 M50i in 4.7 seconds. MERCEDES-BENZ A-CLASS SEDAN

Mercedes-Benz A-Class has added a sedan range to the hatchback model introduced here late last year. The sedan is 130 millimetres longer and sits six millimetres higher than the hatch. The sedan models have 430 litres of cargo space, an increase of 60 litres over the hatchbacks. Like its hatchback brother the new A-Class sedan breaks new ground in aerodynamic efficiency. FCAI EXPRESSES CONCERNS ON PROPOSALS TO MODIFY ATVs

The Federal Chamber of Automotive Industries (FCAI) has expressed concerns regarding current proposals to modify All Terrain Vehicles (ATVs). “A farm is a workplace, and according to Safe Work Australia, agriculture is Australia’s most dangerous industry,” said Tony Weber, chief executive of the FCAI. “An ATV is an important farming tool, which greatly aids the productivity of our agricultural sector. MAZDA3 SEDAN LAUNCHED

The new Mazda3 sedan has arrived in Australia to join the hatch introduced in March. The sedan can be fitted with either 2.0-litre or 2.5-litre petrol engines.
