Joining the Zeekr lineup comes an EV capable being charged in an extraordinary 13 minutes.
That’s the claim of the Chinese Geely for its sub-brand’s Zeekr 7X, a premium five-seat SUV which will join the Zeekr X and Zeekr 009 later this year.
Not only is it fast to charge, but the 7X is quick out of the gates too, with 0-100km/k taking just 3.8 seconds.
The single-motor, Long Range Rear-Wheel Drive model has a range of around 615km (WLTP).
Geely not only owns Volvo, Polestar, Proton, Smart and Lotus, it also markets vehicles under its own name as well as the Zeekr and Lynk & Co brands.
With the world’s first Golden Battery, Zeekr says the 7X delivers the kind of intelligent design, long-range confidence and ultra-fast charging that Australian drivers are looking for.
Designed in Sweden the clean lines and sculpted surfaces are enhanced by slender LED headlights and full-length LED light clusters at the rear.
With a length of 4787mm, height of 1650mm, wheelbase of 2900mm, plus short overhangs and wheels of up to 21-inches, the Zeekr 7X offers dynamic proportions and a purposeful stance.
Inside, 7X combines exceptional space, comfort and refinement, for up to five occupants, with powered door handles and heated and cooled front massage seats.
It offers 539 litres of luggage space at the rear and another 62 litres at the front (RWD grade).
Rear-Wheel Drive and Long-Range models have a single, 310kW and 440Nm motor that powers the rear axle, with an estimated range figures of 480km and 615km respectively.
The two light, compact electric motors integrated into the front and rear axles of the flagship Performance model generate a total output of 475kW and 710Nm of instant torque.
Together with the traction and control benefits of all-wheel drive, the powertrain delivers truly electrifying performance with 0-100km/h in only 3.8 seconds.
With active air suspension with continuous damper control, which increases ground clearance by up to 45mm, the Performance model is even better suited to challenging driving conditions.
7X is based on 800V architecture with a battery pack that is located beneath the vehicle floor, lowering the centre of gravity and maximising cabin and luggage compartment space.
The Rear-Wheel Drive model uses Zeekr’s industry-leading 75 kWh Golden Battery pack, while Long-Range and Performance models have a 100kWh battery pack, chosen for its greater energy density.
A 22kW on-board AC charger is standard, which enables customers with a 22kW home wallbox to replenish the battery from 10-100 per cent in 4.5 hours for the Rear-Wheel Drive model, or 5.5 hours for Long-Range and Performance models.
DC charging can be accomplished at a rate of up to 450kW.
With a 360kW fast charger the 7X Rear-Wheel Drive can achieve 10-80 per cent in just 13 minutes, and 16 minutes for Long-Range and Performance models.
Available to order now, the 7X is priced from $57,900 plus on road costs for the single-motor Rear-Wheel Drive model, $63,900 for the Long-Range Rear-Wheel Drive and $72,900 for the Performance All-Wheel Drive model[3]
