The third-generation BMW X6 will arrive in Australia in the fourth quarter of 2019 with sleek proportions, new infotainment systems, as well as the interesting option of BMW’s new high-capacity towing system across all models.
The new BMW X6 has grown in length, width and wheelbase but a reduction in overall height to suit its sporting exterior.
Both parts of the frontal design are framed by a common surround. An oft-ticked option is likely to be the “Iconic Glow” illuminated grille.
The new interior is designed to create what BMW says is, “An exclusive and focused experience with a high level of luxury.”
It features high levels of workmanship and uses premium materials such as Vernasca leather upholstery.
The BMW X6 now has a 40:20:40-split second row seats to increase versatility.
All models come have BMW Live Cockpit Professional and the BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant, the latter taking communication between driver and vehicle to a new level.
BMW Live Cockpit Professional includes a customisable, high-resolution instrument cluster with an impressive 12.3-inch display. The centre-mounted Control Display is also 12.3 inches in size and delivers super sharp clarity when controlling vehicle functions.
The BMW X6 sold here will have the M Sport package across all three models.
Three engines are offered: 3.0-litre six-cylinder petrol, 250kW, max. torque 450Nm, 0-100km/h 5.5 secs; 3.0-litre six-cylinder diesel, 195kW, max. torque 620Nm, 0-100km/h 6.5 secs; 4.4-litre Twin Turbo V8, 390kW, max. torque 750Nm, 0-100km/h 4.3 secs.
All power units are mated to an eight-speed Sport Steptronic transmission.
All three BMW X6 models are available with a BMW towing solution that includes an integrated hitch receiver, bespoke control unit and specific vehicle wiring harness.
