NEW HOLDEN CRUZE Z-SERIES

Holden’s sporty looking Cruze Z-Series special editions have been introduced in the new-look Cruze range and are offered in two variants – the Z-Series and the SRi-Z.

Cruze Z offers a new design of 17-inch alloy wheels in a two-tone design, a rear lip spoiler on the sedan and a high spoiler on the hatch. Sill plates and “Z-Series” badges complete the external look. Inside there are “Z-Series” front floor mats

The Cruze SRi-Z is based on the sporty Cruze SRI-V that already has a sports suspension and a body kit. The ‘Z’ adds unique 18-inch alloys in what Holden calls a Satin Medium Android colour. It has rear sports spoiler on the hatch (the stock SRi-Z sedan already has a spoiler), alloy pedal covers, “Z-Series” front floor mats and a new design of sill plates.

Exterior “Z-Series” badge let others know you’re driving a special edition Holden.

The special edition Cruze builds on the already impressive standard features of the models on which they are based. These include leather-trimmed seats, the MyLink infotainment system with a 7.0-inch colour touchscreen, voice recognition with Apple Siri, push button start and the safety of a rear view camera.

All Cruze models are powered by a 1.6-litre four-cylinder engine driving the front wheels thorough either with a manual or automatic transmission. Power output is 132 kilowatts, with torque of 230 Newton metres providing easy driving under almost all conditions. When launched the Cruze was also offered with a 1.4 turbo-petrol and a 2.0 turbo-diesel, but the range has been pulled back to simply the aforementioned 1.6-litre.

Holden Cruze is now the only small car made in Australia and production will cease in 2017. It will be a shame to see it go, but Cruze’s sales have never been anything to get excited about. The facelift this time last year, featuring the latest GM stacked-grille look works well and has pulled in more buyers in recent times. Perhaps the latest Z range can help it along.

Holden’s Lifetime Capped Price Service program is an appealing feature of all Holdens these days and obviously comes with these special edition Cruzes.

Recommended driveaway pricing:
Cruze Z-Series 1.8-litre sedan and hatch: $22,640 (manual), $24,840 (automatic)
Cruze SRI-Z 1.6-litre sedan and hatch: $27,140 (manual), $29,340 (automatic)
