MINI KENSINGTON EDITION

A limited edition Mini Kensington Edition is now on the Australian market. Just 60 are on offer in this country. Available on Mini Cooper and Cooper S three- and five-door hatches all are finished in a Pure Burgundy metallic hue. There are K’ badges on the side pillars. Both Kensington models have black roof and mirror caps and a black JCW roof spoiler

Cooper has 16-inch black alloy wheels in ‘Victory spoke’ pattern, while 17-inch black alloy wheels in ‘Cosmos spoke’ are on the Cooper S.

A large panorama sunroof is fitted to all models.

Kensington has the Mini Active and Mini Excitement packages installed as standard. Active Package has LED headlights with Union Jack tail lights. Excitement Package has white indicator lenses, automatic climate control and wireless phone charging (already standard on Cooper S).

Cloth and leather combination upholstery in Diamond Carbon Black is used in the Cooper. The Cooper S features Mini Yours Lounge Leather upholstery in Carbon Black.

All have a Mini Yours Leather steering wheel, Chrome Line interior highlights, piano black interior surfaces and anthracite interior headliner. The Cooper S has heated front seats.

All are powered by turbo-petrol engines; the Cooper has a three-cylinder 1.5-litre unit, the Cooper S gets a four-cylinder 2.0-litre.

Cooper Kensington models have a seven-speed double-clutch transmission. Cooper S upgrades this to a seven-speed sports double-clutch unit. Perhaps not surprisingly in a classy model like this there is no six-speed manual gearbox on offer.
