This is quite simply the world’s fastest series production four-seater, having run the legendary North Loop of the Nurburgring with a time of 7 minutes and 25.41 seconds.
It’s powered by a 4.0-litre bi-turbo V8 making 470kW and 900Nm. It drives through an AMG SPEEDSHIFT TCT nine- speed automatic to 4MATIC+ all-wheel-drive. It can sprint from standstill to 100km/h in just 3.2 seconds.
The GT 63 rides on 21-inch AMG cross-spoke forged wheels, has multibeam LED headlights, and yellow-painted AMG brake calipers.
Inside is Nappa leather upholstery, a 14-speaker Burmester surround sound system, AMG Performance front seats (heated and cooled), an AMG Performance steering wheel, also trimmed in Nappa leather, wireless phone charging.
Major safety features include active distance assist DISTRONIC, active blind spot assist, brake assist with cross traffic function, lane change assist and steering assist, a 360-degree camera, and the Mercedes PRE-SAFE crash anticipation system.
Also in the range is the Mercedes-AMG GT 53 4-door Coupe. It has an inline six-cylinder engine making 320kW of power and 520Nm of torque.
The Mercedes-AMG GT 53 4MATIC+ 4-Door Coupé will retail in Australia for $249,900 MRLP. The Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S 4MATIC+ 4-Door Coupé is priced at $349,900 MRLP.
