MERCEDES ADDS SEDANS TO A-CLASS RANGE

Mercedes has introduced two new versions of its A-Class. The A 250 Sedan and A 250 4MATIC (all-wheel drive) Sedan fit into the company’s sedan line-up between the A 180 Sedan and the Mercedes-AMG A 35 4MATIC Sedan.

As is often the way with the sedans they provide extra luggage capacity, an extra 420 litres back there, an increase of 50 litres over the corresponding hatchbacks.

Both are powered by a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine (165kW/350Nm) mated to a seven-speed automatic transmission.

Standard equipment for the A 250 Sedan MBUX multimedia system with navigation and extensive personalisation and voice control functions; DAB digital radio with nine-speakers; touch controllers; smartphone integration with wireless charging.

The A 250 Sedan incorporates compatibility with Mercedes me Connect, the smartphone app that allows direct interactivity with the vehicle including functions to lock or unlock the doors, start the engine remotely, access key vehicle information or configure servicing requirements.

Safety equipment includes Active Brake Assist, Active Lane Keep Assist, Traffic Sign Assist and Adaptive High-beam Assist.

The Mercedes-Benz A 250 4MATIC Sedan also has Comfort Sports seats in DINAMICA microfibre, brushed stainless steel sports pedals with rubber studs, ambient lighting featuring 64 colours, red contrast stitching, a Nappa leather steering wheel with a flattened lower section and a panoramic glass sunroof.

The A 250 4MATIC has AMG body styling on front and rear aprons and side sill panels, a ‘diamond’ radiator grille, and dark-tinted rear privacy glass.

Performance additions include a Sports Direct steering system, perforated front brake discs and lowered comfort suspension.
