Peugeot has announced the addition of a pure electric version of its 2008 small SUV.
Called the e-2008 it will be released here in the third quarter of 2023 and join the e-Partner
small commercial van EV due around mid-year as well as the existing Plug-In Hybrid
(PHEV) versions of the 3008 SUV and 508 sedan.
The e-2008 isn’t exactly new, having been on European roads since 2020. Initially it will
come here with the same equipment level as the petrol-powered 2008 GT Sport which
sells for just over $50,000 plus on-road costs. While the price of the equivalent e-2008 is
yet to be announced we’d expect it to be in the high $60k range.
The e-2008 is based on Peugeot’s Common Modular Platform and combines 50 kWh
battery with a 100-kW electric motor driving the front wheels to provide up to 260 Nm of
torque with a driving range of about 333 kilometres.
