CHERY TIGGO MID-SIZED SUV BREAKS THOUGH THE $40k DRIVEAWAY BARRIER

Hot on the heels of the arrival of its Omodo 5 compact SUV, Chery Australia has provided
pricing and specification details for a second, slightly larger, five-seat SUV, called the
Tiggo 7 Pro.

Apart from a very forgettable period between 2011 and 2017 when it tried to sell a small J-
series hatchback Chery is all but unknown here. That’s certainly not the case elsewhere in
the world because, although its only China’s ninth-largest auto maker, it is the country’s
largest exporter of passenger vehicles including more than three million Tiggo vehicles.

Three Tiggo 7 Pro variants will be offered, Urban, Elite and Ultimate with driveaway prices
of $39,990, $41,990 and $45,990 respectively.

Urban and Elite are each front-wheel drive, Ulitimate is AWD.

All variants are powered by a1.6-litre Euro VI-compliant turbo-petrol engine delivering
137kW at 5500rpm and 275Nm at 2000rpm. Transmission is through a seven-speed dual-
clutch automatic.

Fuel consumption is listed at 7.0 litres per 100km with CO2 emissions of 163g/km on the
combined cycle.

There’s an excellent range of standard equipment across the range with the entry-level
Urban coming with eight airbags, LED exterior lighting, panoramic sunroof, dual zone
climate control, twin 12.3-inch instrument and multimedia screens, heated front seats,
ambient interior lighting, 18 advanced driver aid systems, embedded satellite navigation,
and an 8-speaker Sony sound system.

Additional features in the $41,990 drive-away Elite include a 360-degree camera, auto-
folding mirrors, powered tailgate, air quality management system and negative ion air
freshener.

The top-spec Ultimate ($45,990 drive-away) adds all-wheel drive, 19-inch alloy wheels, six
drive modes (Eco/Sport/Normal/Snow/Mud/Off-road), red front brake callipers, memory
mirrors and driver’s seat, auto-dimming rearview mirror and ventilated front seats

Exterior dimensions are 4513mm in length, 1862mm in width and 1696mm in height which
places it at the smaller end of the mid-sized SUV range, around the same as the

There is excellent boot space with 626 with all seats in place and up to 1672 litres with the
rear seats folded flat.

Both the standard warranty and roadside assistance are for seven years with unlimited
kilometres.

Pre-sales for the Tiggo 7 Pro are open now with the first 500 customers who place an
order with a Chery retailer during the pre-sales phase (up to October 20, 2023), they will
receive free scheduled servicing for three years or 30,000 kilometres.
