PORSCHE 911 1998 – 2019

It’s hard to believe that the iconic Porsche 911 is nearing its 60th year. It’s a pure sports machine that once sold new for a reasonable price tag but has become very expensive in recent years. Today’s prices are the result of the German company trying to push itself up into the lower end of the supercar field that’s dominated by the Italians and Brits. PORSCHE 959

The late 1980s heralded in an economic boom in Western Europe and, amongst others, sportscar makers at the top end of the market saw the opportunity to exploit it ruthlessly with hugely expensive limited editions. The Porsche 959 was the first of these super performers and set the standard for imitators. Aston Martin in Britain produced the Vantage Zagato, while Ferrari made small numbers of its 288GTO in 1986 and its 322km/h F40 in 1987. Their success persuaded other manufacturers to follow suit. Within three years, Jaguar had announced its… Read more

2020 PORSCHE CAYENNE COUPE REVIEW

Porsche has added a coupe to its Cayenne range. It has substantial changes to the body and re-tuning of the active suspension to give it an excellent driving feel. It certainly looks like a coupe not an SUV that’s simply had more slope to the back windows, the shape appealed to all we displayed it to during our test week. A panoramic sunroof is standard, or you can go for the optional lightweight carbon roof. Our test Cayenne had the sunroof. See more in the Driving section of this review…. Read more
