PEUGEOT 308, 2008-2021

Peugeot 308 is a small-medium French car that’s well regarded for style and comfort. It has never reached the sales heights of the likes of models in its class from Hyundai, Mazda and Toyota and so on. But those who like driving something out of the ordinary should put a Peugeot 308 somewhere on their short list. Despite its styling flair the 308’s designers hadn’t forgotten about function, it has a good-sized rear seat for its class, and sensible luggage space. Indeed, European owners regard cars in the Peugeot 308… Read more

PEUGEOT 308 GT PREMIUM STATION WAGON

Peugeot has an extremely long history of building vehicles, one that dates back more than 130 years. In 1889 Armand Peugeot built a steam-powered three-wheeled vehicle. Only four were sold. The next year he designed a more conventional vehicle with an internal combustion engine and four wheels. Peugeot has expanded globally over the years and today ranks as one of the world’s largest car makers. This week’s road test is on the new generation Peugeot 308 GT Premium station wagon. PEUGEOT 3008 GT SPORT

The French know a thing or two about style. Nowhere is this more evident than with the latest Peugeot 3008. There’s no mistaking this car for anything else on the road, although one of the Chinese brands has imitated its distinctive cascading grille. Facelifted in 2020 the five-seat 3008 is Peugeot’s biggest selling model in this country and a leader in the European market. So, what makes this compact SUV so special? The 308 will be… Read more

PEUGEOT 5008 GT SPORT

The 5008 is the largest of French carmaker Peugeot’s three SUV models ahead of the compact 2008 and the mid-sized 3008. With its relatively long low profile and seven seats the 5008 is effectively a crossover between an SUV and a people mover. Indeed, from its debut in 2009 through until 2016 it was tagged as an MPV before switching to the more marketable SUV name-tag. The current (second generation) model was released in 2017 with the current facelifted version arriving in early 2021. The 5008 is aimed at the… Read more

PEUGEOT 508 GT FASTBACK PLUG-IN HYBRID

The 508 GT Plug-in Hybrid is now offered by the French marque in Australia. STYLING It’s chic and sleek, sitting long and low with frameless door windows and coupe-like liftback. To say it’s eye-catching doesn’t do the car justice. It’s almost a work of art. The inside is a study in design too. The windscreen is cluttered and the chunky A pillar blocks driver vision at critical moments, for example on roundabouts. Over the shoulder vision is not terrific either, with even larger rear pillars and limited vision from the… Read more

PEUGEOT 508 GT FASTBACK PLUG-IN HYBRID

. Originally offered as a four-door sedan or five-door station wagon, the Peugeot 508 has been on sale in Australia since July 2011. It fitted into the space between the smaller 407 and larger 607, effectively replacing both cars. The second generation 508 was launched in 2019 but didn’t arrive here until August 2021 and featured Peugeot’s first-ever plug-in hybrid (PHEV) powertrain. While there is a large choice of engines and equipment levels available overseas for the 508, only three models are available here, all with the top-grade GT variant… Read more

PEUGEOT 3008 GT SPORT PLUG-IN HYBRID AWD

The Peugeot 300 Hybrid car looks amazing and confirms the French know a thing or two about style. The detail in the complex front design with its dark chrome grille is exceptional and integrates striking LED lighting unlike anything else you might have seen, especially at night. Inside, quilted Nappa leather seats with their contrast stitching look top shelf, but we found them a little small and uncomfortable. One of the hallmarks of the brand is its tiny steering wheels and high-mounted instrument cluster, designed to replace the need for… Read more
