NISSAN JUKE STAYS TRUE TO BREEDING

The Nissan Juke, with its jagged body lines, numerous cut-outs and contrasting highlights, presents the perfect example of what could be seen as automotive architectural anarchy. Even so, with the resulting sharp appearance, there’s no reason the compact sports utility vehicle should not join its more traditional rivals and enjoy a mid-cycle makeover. Already with an enthusiastic fan base, the Juke in ST and Ti-S six-speed manual and Ti-S CVT automatic variants, Nissan is aiming to grab a thicker slice of the market with modified exterior styling, plus three MyJuke… Read more

NISSAN NAVARA ST-X REVIEW

The big news in the Australian new car scene in recent years has been the rapid growth of SUV sales which saw them overtake conventional passenger cars for the first time in 2017. Only slightly less spectacular has been the jump in sales of pickups / utilities with Toyota HiLux and Ford Ranger occupying the top two spots in overall vehicles sales last year – and certain to do so again this year. While Nissan Navara sales lag a fair way behind HiLux and Ranger it still accounts for almost… Read more

SPECIAL EDITION NISSAN NAVARAS

2018 NISSAN 370Z REVIEW

The popular Nissan 370Z has received a slight update, a price cut and minor styling changes as the Japanese manufacturer looks to reposition the distinguished coupe as an affordable and timeless offering. We have always had a soft-spot for the 370Z and there was great excitement when it replaced the 350Z in 2009, and a somewhat more tempered pleasure with subsequent refreshes over the last decade. Taking it home for the week was a nice way to get reacquainted with a favoured friend. STYLING Amazingly, the Nissan 370Z continues to… Read more

NISSAN NAVARA 4X4 ST

Australia may not be Nissan’s biggest ute market but it is one of its most knowledgeable. That is hardly surprising given our love-affair with utes and the remarkable fact that it leads the pack when it comes to new vehicle purchases. It’s no secret that Australians expect a lot from their utes – work vehicle and leisure mobile, family carrier, weekend warrior, 4WD-adventurer, dump hauler – the list is almost endless. But we also want a vehicle with creature comforts and performance cred. Nissan has updated the Navara to iron… Read more

NISSAN X-TRAIL TL REVIEW

Take a good look at the Nissan X-Trail. Look like a speed demon to you? It may have the 370Z as a brother but let’s face it, the X-Trail leans towards comfortable, disciplined and tempered rather than the maverick. Unfortunately, the traffic policeman I pointed that out to didn’t seem to bite, nodding patiently while still texting me my infringement (yes, that’s actually a thing). Luckily the senior constable took pity on me, keeping the points to a minimum, although I prefer to consider it my fee for discussing the… Read more
