All Holden enthusiasts have been invited show their pride by joining the Holden Dream Cruise on the streets of northern Adelaide on Sunday, 15 October.

The Holden Dream Cruise will be a giant street parade of Holden cars followed by a family fun day with displays, entertainment, food and a show ‘n’ shine competition.

It will be led by the first and last cars built in Australia by Holden – a 1948 48/215 and a 2017 VF Commodore.

Holden is encouraging owners of classic and iconic cars to register for the Holden Dream Cruise, in particular the FJ, EH, HD, Kingswood, Torana, Monaro, Sandman, Commodore and the Holden Ute.

However, owners of all vehicles made or assembled by Holden in Australia will be eligible to register to take part in the Cruise.

The Holden Dream Cruise will wind its way from the Elizabeth City shopping centre, past Holden’s vehicle operations plant on Philip Highway, Elizabeth, before culminating in a giant family fun day and show ‘n’ shine car event at Central District Football Club’s My Money Oval at Elizabeth South.

The Holden Dream Cruise will have numerous viewing locations along its 10 kilometre route plus the opportunity to get up close to the spectacular cars at the family event.

“The Holden Dream Cruise is not just for owners of classic Holden cars made in Australia but for the wider community,” said Richard Phillips, Holden’s executive director of manufacturing.

“We want to hold an event that recognises the large community of people who care about the brand, its manufacturing heritage and its future.

Holden chairman and managing director, Mark Bernhard said, “the Holden Dream Cruise is about honouring our heritage and paying our respect to it by reinforcing our future.

“Holden is one of Australia’s most iconic brands. We built the auto industry in this country and Australia grew up with Holden. We’re incredibly proud of that heritage and committed to building a future that honours our past.

“We may not be building cars locally but the retention of our engineering team, our international design studios and our vehicle testing facility are just a few examples of Holden’s ongoing commitment to Australia and our customers.
