Production of the first purely electric Porsche, the Taycan, will begin in 2019. however, Porsche Australia says the Taycan won’t go on sale here until 2020. Porsche is expanding its range of hybrids sold in Australia the new Cayenne E-Hybrid. Following the old adage that racing ‘improves the breed’ the German sportscar maker has dominated the famed LeMans 24-hour race with hybrid cars for several years. Cayenne E-Hybrid has a 3.0-litre V6 engine (250 kW) combined with an electric engine (100 kW) to generate system power of up to 340 kW. Porsche Australia has announced that two new models, from the opposite ends of the scale, are coming Downunder next year: PORSCHE 718 BOXSTER AND CAYMAN GTS The Porsche 718 Boxster roadster and Cayman coupe are now offered in high-performance GTS variants. The updated turbocharged 2.5-litre, GTS four-cylinder boxer engine produces 269 kW, up 26 kW over the previous GTS models with their naturally aspirated engine.
