BLACK EDITION PORSCHE 911 AND BOXSTER

Porsche has announced Black Editions are on their way for the iconic 911 and its baby brother the Boxster. Unlike other marque’s so-called blacks which are available in a multitude of colours, the purists at Porsche are building theirs only with a black exterior.

So, “Any colour you like, so long as it is black.” Sounds familiar?

The Black Editions for MY16 are based on the 911 and Boxster GTS models introduced in the 2015 model year.

Porsche 911 Black Edition is available is offered as a coupe and cabriolet, as a rear-drive C2 and all-wheel drive C4. Prices range from $209,500 for the 911 coupe to $240,000 for the 911 C4 cabriolet.

All 911 Blacks have an estimated $25,000 of additional standard specification over the standard Carrera; full-leather interior, 20-inch 911 Turbo alloy wheels; LED headlights with the Porsche Dynamic Light System Plus; Park Assist front and rear; and a reversing camera,

Embossed Porsche crest on the front seat head rests and door guards with a Black Edition logo let your passengers know they are in something out of the ordinary.

The Boxster Black Edition is priced from a very reasonable $110,800. Its $15,000 of additional items over the Boxster are 20-inch Carrera Classic alloy wheels; bi-xenon headlights with Porsche Dynamic Light System; black coloured rollover bar; auto-dimming rearview and door mirrors; a sport design steering wheel.

As in big brother 911 there are embossed Porsche crests on the headrests and door guards with the Black Edition logo.

The new 911 Black Edition and Boxster Black Edition are on sale now across all official Porsche Centres. However it’s likely to be September before the first shipment reaches Australia.
